Steve Ditko Mega Pack

17 August, 2011 (14:09) | Comics, Mail | By: M Kitchen

I Got Mail:  Today the ultimate Steve Ditko Mega Pack arrived in the Ultraist Studios mailbox.

I first learned of all of these comic books from Dave Sim via The Blog And Mail a few years back. Ever since, I’ve been meaning to pick these up. Finally got around to it last week when I placed an order with Bob Heer.

Steve Ditko has designed most of my favourite comic stuff from Spider-Man to the Blue Beetle.
I can’t wait to see what creator owned stuff Ditko has been drawing over the past decades.

I’m especially interested to read THE AVENGING MIND.
Here’s the complete list of books I got.

One thing I had always assumed was that these books were letter sized photocopied fanzines, but they’re actually standard sized comics printed on newsprint! Open them up and they smell like a proper comic! That was a pleasant surprise

I’m also waiting for some Ditko Mania books to come in via Rob Imes.

I’m also waiting for a truckload of SPY GUY #2 to arrive at the Ultraist Studios loading dock any day now.

A good month for comics.

Hot damn, well, if all that doesn’t make you pass out DC is finally putting out trades (or maybes they are hardcovers), of SD’s work there. First volume ships in a week or so. Shade the Changing Man and Stalker.
The Steve Ditko Omnibus Vol. 1

Well look at that, here it is here – http://amzn.to/qwR72E

I wonder if Ditko sees any money out of this…
… regardless, I’m a sucker for the independent creator owned comics.

Whoa, missed this post.

I have all them books, having bought them over the years, but man, I’m a little jealous! To get the whole &$%!@# collection in one box o’ Ditko…awesome.

The 32 Page Package TSK TSK has a great piece on the co-creation of Spider-Man. Ditko even drew a Spider-Man! First time in decades.

Miss Eerie, found in his newest comics, is a great character. Like a female Dirty Harry, only tougher!

Congrats, Mike, on supporting one of The Greats. Enjoy them books!
