I think Dave witnessed the casualties first hand when the self-publishers (metaphorically) stormed Omaha Beach. That changed his thinking from “anyone can self-publish” to the more weary quote above. In fact, over at MYRANT I asked the question “Who are some 2010 self-publishing success stories?” and there weren’t many answers… none that started self-publishing recently. But that only tells me that I get the court all to myself!

I’ll have to watch that on Monday. Looks interesting. I’ve heard about Randy Pausch’s “Last Lecture” but haven’t seen or read it before.
